I needed a nice clear, slightly ominous match being lit, and so we created this composite using kitchen matches in the shower with a zoom h2.

While making an ambient track simulating a fortune teller's caravan, i designed 3 sounds in pro tools by layering and editing presets within ambience and soft pads. They add a bit of magical flare when the tarot card reader turns over a card. This sound can be used for any kind of transition, item acquisition, quest accomplished, or other quick sound effect which needs a light, magical quality. Light string sound without melody. Made with a keyboard improvisation midi, processed through virtual synth in music maker as acoustic guitar, disguised with reverb, delay, echo and fx phasing into something that sounds almost like a gypsy cimbalom.
